CHITRADURGA: A tragic accident early Tuesday morning on NH-150A, between Challakere and Ballari, near Bommakkanahalli Majid in Monakalmur taluk, claimed the lives of three individuals, including two children. CCTV footage captured the vehicle slamming into the highway divider and tumbling over 15 times.
The victims were identified as Moula Abdul, 35, the driver of the car, and his sons, Rehman, 15, and Sameer, 10. Moula’s wife, Salima Begum, 31, his 75-year-old mother, Fatima, and another son, Hussein, were seriously injured and have been transferred to Ballari VIMS Hospital for treatment.
Originally from Yadgir, the family had been living in Bengaluru where they worked as laborers. Police reports state that the vehicle was traveling from Bengaluru to Yadgir when the accident occurred. PSI Mahesh Hosapete visited the scene, which falls under Rampur police station’s jurisdiction.
