MUMBAI: Three individuals sustained injuries following a fire that ignited due to a leak in an MGL gas pipeline located in the center of the road at Takshila in Andheri (East) at approximately 12:30 am. The fire also destroyed four vehicles, which included two Wagon R cars, an auto-rickshaw, and a motorcycle.
The injured parties, comprising two motorcyclists and an auto-rickshaw driver, were transported to the hospital prior to the arrival of the fire brigade. They are currently receiving treatment at the trauma care hospital in Jogeshwari. The fire, which broke out near the Sher-E-Punjab Society, was successfully extinguished by 1:50 am. The injured individuals have been identified as Arvindkumar Kaithal (21), Aman Harishankar Saroj (22), and Suresh Kailas Gupta (52).
In a related incident, residents of the Rajatgiri area in Dharwad experienced panic when a fire erupted on the road due to a gas pipeline.
Morning walkers initially believed the flames at Rajatgiri Cross 1 were merely burning dry leaves; however, the fire rapidly spread along the entire stretch. Upon recognizing the seriousness of the situation, they promptly notified the police and firefighters. Firefighters arrived swiftly and employed water cannons to control the blaze, which took nearly 15 minutes to extinguish completely. The Vidyagiri police secured the area, limiting the movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Emergency service officials confirmed that the fire was a result of a leak in a gas pipeline installed by IOC and Adani. The leak was contained, and the fire was extinguished without causing any harm to life or property.
