Jaipur: On Sunday, a stone-pelting incident in Chomu resulted in injuries to at least three police officers while they were attempting to apprehend several suspects at Imam Chowk Pathan Mohalla. As law enforcement officials took individuals into custody, a crowd assembled in protest, which escalated into a violent confrontation.
In response to the growing unrest, Pradeep Sharma, the in-charge of Chomu police station, arrived with reinforcements. Although three individuals were detained, the crowd became increasingly hostile, launching stones at the officers. Sharma reported that certain members of the crowd hindered police operations and resisted the arrest of the suspects through violent means.
The four individuals arrested were identified as Rafiq (45), Usman Ali (49), Sher Khan (45), and Firoz Khan (33), all of whom are residents of Chomu. A case has been filed against unidentified individuals for obstructing government operations, and authorities are actively pursuing those responsible for the violence.
To maintain order, additional police units have been deployed to the area, and a riot control vehicle has been dispatched from Jaipur as a precautionary measure, according to officials.
