MUMBAI: The results for the Chartered Accountant (CA) final examination were announced on Friday, showing a success rate of 13.4% for candidates who attempted both groups. The all-India rank one was shared by Heramb Maheshwari from Hyderabad and Rishab Ostwal from Tirupati, both of whom scored 84.7%. Riya Shah from Ahmedabad secured the second position, while Kinjal Ajmera from Kolkata took third place.

The exams, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in November 2024, were held at 433 centres across the country. A total of 11,500 students qualified as chartered accountants. Among those who took Group 1, the success rate was 16.8%, while Group 2 saw a 21.3% success rate. Out of 30,763 candidates who attempted both groups, 4,134 successfully cleared them.

CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, President of ICAI, praised the successful candidates, stating, “Clearing one of the toughest examinations in the country is a major achievement. Earning the ‘CA’ prefix is not just a professional milestone, but a powerful testament to your unwavering determination, sacrifice, and hard work.” To the new CAs, he said, “This accomplishment marks the beginning of a promising and transformative chapter in your lives. Keep aiming higher, achieving greater things, and always prioritize the progress and pride of your nation.”

Agarwal also noted that this year’s results were exceptional, with more than 31,946 students passing the CA final exam, reflecting a significant increase in participation and growing interest among the youth.
