Hyderabad, Suraram (Cyberabad): A deadly reactor explosion at Aurore Pharma Company in Suraram, Cyberabad, on Wednesday resulted in one fatality and left three workers severely injured.
Accident Occurs During Reactor Cleaning Process
The incident took place when workers were cleaning a reactor with methanol water around 10:15 AM. Police reported that a flash fire triggered an explosion, causing severe burns to four workers who were in close proximity to the reactor at the time.
Victim Identified as Anil Kumar
The deceased has been identified as Anil Kumar (42), while the injured are Bala Ram (51), Gopi Chand (30), and Srinivas Reddy (46). Of the injured, Gopi Chand is a permanent employee, while the others are on contract.
Fire Quickly Contained, but Injuries Severe
Despite the workers’ efforts to extinguish the fire before the fire tender arrived, the victims sustained critical burns. They were immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where Anil Kumar was declared dead. The remaining three workers are in critical condition and are under medical observation, according to Suraram SHO Bharath Kumar.
Investigation Underway
Police have registered a case, and an investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing. The company has yet to release an official statement.
