Over the weekend, two separate leopard attacks in Uttar Pradesh resulted in the deaths of an 8-year-old girl in Bijnor and a 15-year-old boy in Kheri district. These tragic incidents contribute to the growing number of leopard-related fatalities, with 22 deaths reported in Bijnor alone over the past year.
Lalit Verma, the Field Director of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, stated, “We have deployed multiple teams to the area, and locals have been advised to remain vigilant. The victim’s family will be entitled to compensation.”
