JHANSI: Two senior executives from a private finance company have been booked for abetting the suicide of Tarun Saxena, a 42-year-old area manager who was found hanged in his home on Sunday in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. In a suicide note, Tarun cited harassment from his superiors as a contributing factor.
Following a complaint from Tarun’s wife, Megha Saxena, an FIR was registered on Monday against the firm’s regional manager, Prabhakar Mishra, and national manager, Vaibhav Saxena. They face charges under sections 108 (abetment to suicide), 352 (intentional insult), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation).
In her complaint, Megha alleged that Tarun endured continuous mental harassment, torture, and public humiliation from his superiors due to his struggles to meet loan recovery targets. She claimed that they regularly threatened to terminate his employment, leading to significant stress and sleepless nights over the past 45 days.
Tarun left a detailed note describing the humiliation he experienced, revealing that the ongoing pressure had driven him to contemplate suicide multiple times before he ultimately took that tragic step, according to Megha.
