Workers Trapped Under Collapsed Structure

According to Kalaghatagi police inspector SS Koujalagi, eight labourers were working at the site when sudden rainfall and strong winds forced them to take shelter under the under-construction structure, which then collapsed, trapping three workers.

“The other labourers rushed them to KRIMS Hospital, but two succumbed to their injuries later that night. The third worker remains in critical condition in the ICU,” Koujalagi said, adding that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Eyewitness Account

Anjanappa, a labourer present at the site, described the incident: “It started raining heavily around 5 PM. The workers took shelter under the centring, but a section suddenly collapsed, trapping three of them.”

Authorities have launched a probe into the incident and are investigating possible lapses in construction safety, officials confirmed.
