ULHASNAGAR: Two children sustained minor injuries after a window grille they were playing on collapsed from their second-floor apartment in Hare Krishna Apartments on Monday. The children hit the first-floor window ledge before landing on the tin roof of a shop on the ground floor.

According to fire department officials, the incident occurred at the residence of Deepak Sharma. His seven-year-old son and four-year-old daughter were playing inside the grille when it suddenly gave way.

Hearing a loud thud, a local resident, Ramesh, rushed to the scene and found the children on the shop’s roof. He immediately raised an alarm, and help arrived.

The children suffered minor injuries on their legs and hands, while the boy also lost some teeth. Both are currently undergoing treatment.

Locals believe that the first-floor window ledge helped reduce the impact of their fall, preventing serious injuries.
